HOI AN – EXPLORE THE COUNTRYSIDE BY SCOOTER – MY SON

After breakfast, drive from Hoi An to My Son, Vietnam’s most significant and iconic Cham archaeological site. Wandering through the evocative Hindu temple ruins dedicated to Shiva. Once a thriving spiritual center of the Champa Kingdom, My Son is regarded as one of Southeast Asia’s foremost Hindu temple complexes—often compared to Angkor in Cambodia, Ayutthaya in Thailand, and Borobudur in Indonesia. Although parts were damaged during the Vietnam War, many impressive structures remain, offering a powerful glimpse into an ancient civilization.

Back to Hoi An around noon.

In the afternoon, you’ll experience a unique eco-tour exploring Hoi An’s captivating countryside on a comfortable electric scooter. Enjoy a peaceful ride through the beautiful countryside on our 100% environmentally friendly electric scooter-no loud engine noises, no exhaust fumes, no pollution. Discover some of Hoi An’s most beautiful hidden spots, meet locals and learn first-hand about their daily routines. This is the only scooter tour in Vietnam where clients can legally drive themselves!

The tour kicks off in style with coffee at a local coffee shop in the center of Hoi An. After that it’s time to hop on your scooter to start exploring Hoi An’s hidden gems and charismatic locals. Take a drive past the old town to Cam Nam Island where we’ll visit some local houses and places where people live and work traditional lives. First of all we will visit a local ship repair yard to experience the hard work involved in maintaining a local fishing boat. Next on the agenda is a short drive through a local village and beautiful countryside. Also included is a stop at an ancestor house where guests can learn more about the belief system in Vietnam. We’ll visit the local shoe-making shop, the funniest stop en route where you’ll get to interact with a jolly bunch of shoemakers and learn about the ancient tradition of tailoring and shoe-making in Hoi An. Before having a short break at a stall overlooking Hoi An Ancient Town and Thu Bon River, we visit a rice cracker place to observe the traditional cracker making process as well as have a taste of the yummy end-product.

Afterwards, on our drive through the countryside, you’ll experience the resplendent beauty of the rice paddies, grazing buffalo and monkey bridges, all of which you can take photos of. We’ll cruise on to Tra Que Village, a beautiful herb and vegetable garden which supplies vegetables for the restaurants in the ancient town. Here you will learn how to identify and distinct flavors of herbs and spices in local dishes, and understand the hardships of the farmers as well. At the end of the tour, guests can unwind at a stunning beach lounge overlooking one of the best beaches in Vietnam, An Bang Beach, with a refreshing drink. You are driven to go to your hotel.

The city’s beauty is characterized by a natural scenic landscape and an extensive variety of historical relics. Begin with Hue Citadel, a well-known UNESCO-recognized World Heritage Site which is a 520 ha fortress-like grand complex built in the early 1800s and featuring three enclosures separated by heavy ramparts namely Kinh Thanh Hue (Civic City) as the outer, Hoang Thanh (Royal City) as the middle and Tu Cam Thanh (Forbidden City) as the inner. Continue by car to the Thien Mu Pagoda, an active Buddhist monastery overlooking the Perfume River with its origin dating back to 1601. Next, transfer to Khai Dinh Tomb, the burial site of Vietnam’s second-to-last monarch and the most elaborate of all Nguyen dynasty tombs. The architecture reflects a striking blend of European and Asian styles, creating a unique and ornate masterpiece.

Once you arrive in Chuon lagoon - the largest brackish water lagoon in Southeast Asia, embark on a scenic excursion on the lagoon, admire wonderful natural landscape and peaceful daily life of local fisherman. You can also keep a close eye on the way fishermen and anglers use nets and other fishing gear to catch fish. Next, enjoy some tasty fresh seafood at a floating restaurant. Then the boat will take you around to admire the spectacular sunset (if the weather is good) on the immense lagoon, the best moment for taking awesome photos.
